Will Breather Be Opening Its Upcoming Facility In Asia?

USA – Popular on-demand coworking space provider Breather announced recently that it has finished off its latest $45M funding round that was led by Menlo Ventures. The company was able to collect a large sum due to the fact that people are now acknowledging the idea of coworking spaces or flexible workspaces and they happen to be high in demand. However, Breather was not in this alone as the funding round was joined by Singapore based Temasek and Ascendas-Singbridge.

In another announcement, it was also revealed that Breather’s funding round was also joined by la Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, which is based in Canada. The fact that Breather has had massive support from all three companies just shows that fact that coworking space providers are being supported globally and the demand for these will continue to grow in the coming run.

This wasn’t the only funding round for the company as it previously raised money in other funding rounds and has managed to raise $120 million so far. The company has expanded its operations worldwide and has a massive global outreach. As of now, the company has 500 workplaces through 10 cities globally including San Francisco, LA, New York, London and more.

People who have had an experience with Breather have had positive things to say about the company. Even the company’s CEO and founder Julien Smith had positive things to talk about the company, while its long-term plans were revealed. “Breather has enabled many businesses throughout the globe to get the space that they need and require and the freedom to scale their usage up and down of these spaces whenever they like”. Breather currently has two of its investors headquartered in none other than Asia, a region that has had massive increase and growth in coworking spaces. It is also being said that Breather’s next office will also be in Asia.

CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge, Yi Ya Chng, while commenting on his company’s support of Breather, said, “A large number of businesses in Asia want flexibility in their real estate options and want something more than the traditional leases and long-run commitments”. He also spoke about the innovative approach by Breather and commended the company to have been able to deal with real-time problems well by providing coworking solutions to clients worldwide. Concluding his remarks, the CEO said, “We look forward to supporting this company in bringing the future to reality”.

Ascendas-Singbridge group is a well-known urban development group based in Asia. It also provides business space solutions. The company is jointly owned by Temasek, which was another company backing Breather’s latest funding round.

Since most of Breather’s support comes from Asian companies in its latest funding round, analysts expect the company to open its forthcoming facility in Asia.

If it turns out to be true that Breather will now be venturing into Asia, it will be joining the likes of many other coworking space firms currently operating in Asia.
