Ubisoft Opens New 3-storey Office In one-north
SINGAPORE – Ubisoft, a French video game behemoth, celebrated its 15th anniversary in the city-state by unveiling a bigger office spanning over 53,800 sq ft (5,000 sq m) at the Solaris building in the one-north business park last week, according to a report from Yahoo Gaming SEA on Monday morning (20 November, SGT).
The new three-storey studio will serve as the game developer’s production hub for video games. As a matter of fact, the facility comes with dedicated areas for playtesting as well as collaborative spaces for its employees. Apart from having a library, it also features recording studios for sound engineering or creating audio for games.
Notably, Ubisoft is among the biggest video game developers that have established a presence in Singapore, with its local team expanding from just a handful in 2008 to more than 450 staff, of which 70 percent are local hires.
Meanwhile, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported last week that Alibaba Group Holding’s fintech division, Ant Group, has opened a new office in Singapore at Guoco Midtown along Beach Road.
“This new office signifies our commitment to enabling our teams in Singapore to continue playing an important role in our international development,” announced Ant Group’s CEO and Chairman Eric Jing, when the new office space was announced recently.
“From Singapore we are extending a global journey towards our unchanging vision: to work with partners to create a future commerce where every individual and every business may harness the power of digital technologies to achieve sustainable growth,” added Ant International’s newly appointed President Peng Yang.
