Three Singapore Office Buildings Seek WiredScore & SmartScore Certifications
SINGAPORE – Shaw Tower, StarHub Green, and Keppel Bay Tower are seeking WiredScore and SmartScore certifications, making them the first office properties here to commit to the accreditations, according to a press release published on Tuesday (7 June, SGT).
Their owners – Keppel REIT, Shaw Towers Realty, and PAG – are also the first three building owners and developers in Singapore to commit to the WiredScore and SmartScore certifications.
Notably, Keppel Bay Tower is a 386,000 sq ft office asset at Harbourfront owned by Keppel REIT. StarHub Green is a 400,000 sq building in Paya Lebar held by PAG, while Shaw Towers Realty’s Shaw Tower is a 33-storey office tower on Beach Road that is presently undergoing redevelopment that is overseen by Lendlease.
“Being the first three building owners and developers to commit to our certifications in Singapore, Keppel REIT, Shaw Towers Realty, and PAG recognize the importance of best-in-class digital connectivity and technology-enabled user experiences. It is paramount that landlords and developers recognize this to create offices that naturally attract and inspire employees, going beyond the provision of simply providing desks and meeting rooms,” commented Thomasin Crowley, Global Director of Asia Pacific at WiredScore.
“Smart and well-connected buildings will play an integral role in the future of real estate, and we are excited to work closely with landlords and developers in Singapore to help achieve this.”
WiredScore certification is the global digital connectivity rating scheme that aims to enhance, benchmark, and promote buildings. SmartScore certification defines what smart buildings are, and how to build them, enabling commercial property owners to understand, improve and communicate the user functionality and technological foundations of their assets.
The announcement by WiredScore follows the recent launch of its Asia headquarters in Singapore in March 2022.
“Keppel REIT is pleased to be one of the first building owners to commit to the WiredScore and SmartScore certifications in Singapore. Keppel Bay Tower, as Singapore’s first Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy commercial building, showcases myriad energy-efficient technologies and smart capabilities that enhance tenants’ experience. We are committed to leveraging technology and the best-in-class infrastructure to build a high quality and sustainable portfolio that is resilient and future ready,” added Shirley Ng, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of Investment at Keppel REIT’s manager, Keppel REIT Management Ltd.
