Pembroke Completes 25 Cannon Street London Office Upgrade
UNITED KINGDOM – Pembroke, a real estate company, has completed the revamp of 25 Cannon Street, a mixed-use commercial property containing high-specification office space, reported Deadline News on Monday (11 July, SGT).
Located along a major street in London and close to St. Paul’s Cathedral, the 5-storey development spans 120,414 sq ft. Its biggest tenant is multinational law firm Dechert, which has agreed to take up a 15-year office lease that will commence next year.
Apart from a public garden, the upgrade includes the addition of a double-height reception and a new roof terrace measuring 5,400 sq ft that provides panoramic views of the Dome of Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
The enhancements prioritised the wellbeing of commercial property tenants, including improving air quality and letting in more sunlight. The office building was also made more energy-efficient and can now operate fully on renewable power in a bid to secure BREEAM Excellent certification.
At the ground floor, Pembroke has repurposed the commercial space for new retail and F&B outlets. This will extend the dining offerings from the bustling Watling Street through to Saint Paul’s.
“We’re immensely proud of what we have achieved at 25 Cannon Street working with the City of London Corporation and our project partners,” said Pembroke’s Senior Vice President Nick Moldon.
“This repositioning programme is strengthening the City’s offer of modern, high-spec office spaces, while adding vitality and day-to-night interest for visitors, to enrich their experience of this thoroughfare from St Paul’s through the bustling Watling Street.”
Notably, the office landlord hired construction company BAM and architectural firm Buckley Gray Yeoman to reimagine 25 Cannon Street.
“Internally, the office floors have been enlarged by infilling the original colonnade, removing several satellite cores and repurposing a basement plant area,” added Paul White, Founding Director of Buckley Gray Yeoman.
The upgrading of the office building marks Pembroke’s 5th major development in London after originally completing 25 Cannon Street in 2000. It was completed several years after the property company’s 4 Cannon Street project that’s just across the road.
