Over 25% Of HK Executives Willing To Extend Lease In Green Office Bldgs
HONG KONG – A research by WiredScore, which rates office buildings across the globe on their digital connectivity, revealed that 26 percent of the surveyed real estate decision makers in the Chinese territory will be more likely to extend their office lease if the commercial property owner enhances the green credentials of their building, reported the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on Wednesday morning (30 November, SGT).
Aside from that, 21 percent of the polled Hong Kong corporate executives who sign on office leases cited sustainability as the most crucial factor when choosing a commercial property to occupy.
More importantly, a massive 98 percent of the surveyed real estate decision makers stated that it’s paramount for office landlords to make their buildings eco-friendly by taking advantage of the latest available technology.
“Office tenants in Hong Kong have a strong appetite for smart technologies to meet their evolving needs for a more sustainable, healthy, and inspirational work environment,” commented WiredScore’s Global Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, Thomasin Crowley.
Notably, the building rating platform surveyed a total of 100 real estate decision makers in Hong Kong, who are in charge of signing off a leasing contract.
