Munich Re To Relocate To New Singapore Office This Year
SINGAPORE – Insurance giant Munich Re is poised to move to a new office in the city-state. Apart from coming with a number of eco-friendly features, the new workspace is suitable for hybrid work arrangements, reported finews.asia on Monday afternoon (16 January, SGT).
Come Q4 2023, the German multinational insurance firm will relocate to 18 Cross Street and occupy two floors there. At present, Munich Re is leasing office space at 20 Collyer Quay.
The insurer revealed that the new office tower intends to achieve certain green certifications, including WELL Platinum, Green Mark Platinum, and Smart Score Platinum. This is in a bid to help Munich Re attain its environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.
Upon completion, the office building will come with eco-friendly features, such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems. Not only will the commercial property be constructed using sustainable building materials, it will also feature end-of-trip facilities.
Aside from that, the insurance giant’s new Singapore office was designed with a focus on Munich Re’s Together@Work hybrid working approach.
Besides Munich Re Singapore, the office space will house HSB Singapore, Munich Re Syndicate Singapore Pte Ltd and Munich Re Automation Solutions Pte Ltd.
“We will bring the Munich Re family together under one roof,” said Tobias Frenz, the CEO of Munich Re’s Singapore branch.
“With Singapore being a strategic regional hub for Munich Re, the new office will play an integral role in our regional network, connecting our businesses across Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa,” he added.
