Law Firm Dorsey & Whitney Transfers To HK’s Landmark Alexandra

HONG KONG – The local branch of global law firm Dorsey & Whitney has relocated to a new office in Central, according to a press release published on Business Wire on Wednesday morning (1 June, SGT).

Its new address is at level 28 of Landmark Alexandra along No. 18 Chater Road. The move comes as the law firm marks its 25th year in Hong Kong after having opened there in 1995.

“Our new home in Hong Kong brings us much closer to our clients in the heart of CBD in Hong Kong,” said Simon Chan, the Office Head of Dorsey’s Hong Kong branch.

“We will be within walking distance of our clients, the stock exchange, banks, financial institutions, conglomerates, family offices, and local law firms that we serve and with whom we collaborate.”

Aside from that, Chan revealed that Dorsey’s new office space will come with future-proof modern design and the latest technology to help it better serve its customers.

“With over 25 years of serving our local and regional clients in Hong Kong, we are pleased to enter our next chapter located at the core of Hong Kong’s international financial center and legal hub communities,” he added.

Originally known as the Alexandra Building, the structure was completed in 1904. Then in the 1950s, the building was redeveloped into Alexandra House, which was again revamped in 1975 into the present 37-storey office tower.

Now known as Landmark Alexandra, it’s the first landmark building in Hong Kong to have access to the Mass Transit Railway (MTR). Then in the 1980s, it was fully connected to the other iconic buildings via pedestrian footbridges.
