IWG Opens Coworking Space In Singapore’s Hiap Hoe Building

SINGAPORE – IWG, a provider of flexible office space and coworking space, has opened a new 10,328 sq ft outlet under its Regus brand at Zhongshan Park in Balestier, reported The Edge on Wednesday noon (23 March, SGT).

Located at the Hiap Hoe Building, the coworking space spans 2 levels. It contains 154 workstations and 49 private office suites.

With the new flexible office space, IWG’s overall number of coworking branches across Singapore rises to 26 under 4 brands. The other brands are Spaces, No 18, and Signature. Before the opening of the newest outlet at Hiap Hoe Building, the latest Regus branch to open was at Plus Building at 20 Cecil Street in October 2022.

“Across Singapore’s CBD and residential neighbourhoods like Balestier, we continue to see strong momentum for hybrid working,” commented IWG’s Country Manager in Singapore, Darren Rogers.

Interestingly, the Regus outlet within Hiap Hoe Building at Zhongshan Park in Balestier represents IWG’s 8th branch outside Singapore’s central business district (CBD).

Despite being situated in the city fringe, the coworking space is strategically located close to the office, retail, and medical hub at Novena. It is also just a short drive from the city-state’ famed shopping haven in Orchard Road as well as Singapore’s traditional financial district.

Aside from that, WeWork’s rival IWG disclosed that the number of visits to its coworking branches in the city’s outskirts have jumped by 20 percent from December 2021 to January 2022, when the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement was no longer the default set-up

IWG thinks that it is taking advantage of the rising attractiveness of flexible office spaces that are near residences. In line with this, it intends to add a maximum of 1,000 locations to its global network of coworking spaces this year.
