Aurum Land Forays Into Medical Coworking Space
SINGAPORE – Core Collective, the coworking space division of Aurum Land that targets fitness and wellness professionals, has opened its newest branch at i12 Katong, according to a recent report from The Edge.
The 7,000 sq ft flexible office space represents Core Collective’s 3rd outlet, in addition to its existing branches in Dempsey Hill and Anson Road. The facility comes with a gym, a training area, a physical rehab area, and an occupational therapy room, as well as 10 consultation and treatment rooms.
Apart from its newest outlet at i12 Katong, Core Collective unveiled Core Clinic, a medical coworking platform intended for specialist healthcare practitioners. The platform is a tie-up between Aurum and Singapore Medical Group (SMG), a locally-listed provider of private specialist healthcare services.
According to Michelle Yong, Aurum Land’s Chief Executive who is also the Founder and CEO of Core Collective, the foray into the medical coworking space sector is in line with their focus to create supportive environments that serve as catalyst for change, accelerate growth, and advance communities.
SMG’s Chief Executive and Executive Director Dr. Beng Teck Liang said the medical coworking concept is expected to disrupt the healthcare sector and help the group gain proximity to would-be patients in prime areas.
“While unique to Singapore, the idea of coworking spaces for specialist medical practitioners is viable as case studies overseas have demonstrated the success of the business model,” he added.
For starters, the 1st Core Clinic branch will open in April at i12 Katong, next to Core Collective’s outlet. It will offer 3 medical suites that can be occupied on a pay-per-use rental model. Doctors who will make use of the facility will also have access to a medical concierge supported by SMG’s 24-hr call centre.
The Core Collective and Core Clinic outlets at i12 Katong is located on level 3 of the newly renovated shopping mall, which reopened in December 2021 following refurbishment work that commenced in early-2020.
