OFFICE RENT INDEX FOR CENTRAL REGION GREW BY 1.3% Q-O-Q IN Q2 WHILE ISLANDWIDE VACANCY JUMPED TO 12.6%
Rental indexes for office space in Singapore's central region rose 1.3 percent from the previous quarter, according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority. As compared to the 3.3% rise in Q1 2021, this is a smaller increase. In Q2 2021, the amount of occupied office space contracted by 23,000 sq m net lettable area (NLA), following a 19,000 sq m reduction in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, the stock of office space grew by 34,000 sq m NLA in Q2 2021, after dropping by 9,000 sq m in Q1 2021. This has resulted in the islandwide vacancy rate of office space rising to 12.6% by the end of Q2 2021, from 11.9% by the end of Q1 2021.
